1 ltr. whole milk100gms.Basmati rice (1/2 cup)
125gms.sugar (1/2 cup & 2 tbsp.)
10nos.almonds (1tbsp.when chopped)
6-7nos.cashews (1tbsp. when chopped)
1tsp. cardamom powder
1/4tsp. nutmeg powder (little less)
1/8tsp. saffron strands (a pinch)
oak saffron in 2tsp. boiling milk.
wash rice. Soak in enough water to cover.
Heat milk in a heavy bottom pan on medium flame. After one boil reduce the heat to slow and further cook for 10 minutes.
After 30 minutes press a grain of rice .It should be cooked very soft. By this time rice also must have started peeping out of the milk.
oodh paak and poori is great combination in gujarati cuisine.
